About this opportunity
The Alexander Donald Scholarship is an undergraduate scholarship valued at $5,000 per annum, tenable for one year. Established in 1946, this scholarship has been generously donated by Keith Donald, in memory of his son Gunner Alexander Donald, a member of the Australian Imperial Forces. The scholarship is awarded to a student from Sydney Grammar School with the highest mark in the NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) who is commencing studies in veterinary medicine at the University of Sydney.
The scholarship supports students enrolled full-time in either a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Animal and Veterinary Bioscience) or Bachelor of Veterinary Biology and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine within the Sydney School of Veterinary Science. No application is required as the scholarship is awarded automatically based on HSC results and University enrolments, with recipients informed by email.
To maintain the scholarship, recipients must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 each semester. The scholarship value is paid in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester. Applicants who have deferred or taken a gap year are not eligible.
