About This Opportunity

Alice Tegnérs musikstipendium is a scholarship for developing innovative ideas related to music education in Swedish primary schools. The scholarship can be applied for individually or together with colleagues for a development project in the subject of music. It is aimed at music teachers who teach from preschool class up to grade 6. The scholarship is funded by Alice Tegnér's fund and proceeds from the sale of the song book 'Nu ska vi sjunga' (Now We Shall Sing), which has sold over two million copies since its publication in 1943. Alice Tegnér was a composer, music teacher, and organist who collected children's favorite songs with the help of teachers throughout Sweden. The scholarship requires a clear project idea for developing music teaching, with a cost estimate, and the idea must be well-anchored in proven experience and/or research. The project should be in a startup phase and may not have been ongoing for a long time. A brief report of 1-2 pages must be submitted to Lärarstiftelsen after the work is completed.
