About This Opportunity

The Allan Kay Undergraduate Memorial Scholarship was established by the late Grace Edith Meliora Kay in memory of her late husband, Allan Kay. This scholarship is designed to support students facing financial hardship who are enrolled in an undergraduate degree with a focus on agriculture or horticulture at Massey University. The scholarship seeks students who want to enter careers in agriculture or horticulture in New Zealand, with a particular interest in those who wish to pursue a career in research. Recipients will study undergraduate courses with prefixes including 112, 117, 119, 189, 283, 284, and 285. Up to six awards of up to $3,000 NZD each are available annually for one year's duration. The scholarship is open to full-time students who are New Zealand-born residents under 30 years old. Selection considers both academic achievements and financial need. Applicants must submit a personal statement outlining their future career intentions, current financial need, and how the scholarship would help them, along with high school results or university transcripts and current enrollment documentation.
