About this opportunity
The Alma M Poe Scholarship was created in 1987 to support students from the 7-county Metro Denver area enrolled in an undergraduate program at a Colorado post-secondary institution. Alma Poe was born in Illinois in 1890 and passed away at the age of 96 in 1986, leaving a generous gift in her will to fund this scholarship and aid students in their pursuit of higher education.
This scholarship provides financial support to undergraduate students who are either graduates of high schools in the Metro Denver area or residents of the Metro Denver area for at least 5 years. The scholarship is designed to help students attending 2- or 4-year Colorado post-secondary institutions pursue their undergraduate degrees.
Applications are reviewed based on financial need, scholastic potential, and essay responses. Recipients must maintain eligibility requirements and can receive the scholarship for up to four years total while pursuing their undergraduate degree. Award amounts may be used toward tuition, fees, room and board, books, supplies, and other qualified educational expenses.
