About This Opportunity

The Alpkit Foundation Grant provides small awards between £50-£500 to individuals, community groups, schools and organisations to encourage people to get outdoors and have great experiences that otherwise couldn't happen. The grant supports projects that encourage responsible outdoor activity, have long-lasting benefits, introduce new people to the outdoors, and demonstrate value for money. Funding can be used for various purposes including providing discounted equipment for outdoor adventures and trips, supporting outdoor educational programs such as First Aid or Mountain Leader Training, supporting proactive conservation and environmental projects like community gardens and allotments, and developing facilities for outdoor skills and activities to reach wider groups. Applications are assessed on their individual merit, and there is no limit to the number of times an organization can apply. Applicants must be voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) groups that are locally rooted or actively working in the boroughs of Oldham, Rochdale, or Tameside, and must be formally constituted. The grant operates on a rolling programme basis, with applications recommended to be submitted at least 3 months before project start dates.
