About This Opportunity
The Altrad Babcock Grassroots Fund provides grants to small voluntary, community groups and grass-roots organisations to enable them to continue or expand their work in advocacy, community voice, and service provision for local people in Altrad Babcock's employee residence areas. The fund supports voluntary and community groups in Allerdale, Barrow, Carlisle and Copeland that provide community services and projects helping people learn new things and increase their personal confidence, get people involved in their community, and make the community a better place to live. Examples of supported projects include scenery hire for musical productions in local theatres, DIY equipment for Men in Sheds groups, astro-turf rebound boards for community sports grounds, activities to help young people learn about setting up their own companies, and coaching costs for junior cricket clubs. Grants will normally be less than £1,000 over one year, though there is no minimum or maximum award amount. The fund is currently closed and will not accept applications again until April 2026.
