Alumni Foundation Music Bursaries

University of Bristol Original Source

About This Opportunity

The Alumni Foundation Music Bursaries support the strong musical tradition associated with the University of Bristol by enabling talented student musicians who have already made a significant contribution to the musical life of the University to benefit from professional tuition in either voice, instrument or conducting. The bursaries are funded by the University of Bristol Alumni Foundation, which was established in 1982 to support the University as a place of excellence in teaching and research. Awards are typically around £500 and are valid for one session only, though award-holders may reapply for a bursary in subsequent sessions. The bursaries are specifically for students who are not based in the Department of Music and do not already hold a University Music Award such as an Organ or Choral Scholarship. One of the key criteria for being awarded a bursary is contribution to University music-making, so the bursaries can only be held from the second year onwards.
