About this opportunity

The AMA Indigenous Medical Scholarship was established in 1994 to support the growth of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander doctors, recognizing their critical importance in contributing to better health outcomes for Indigenous communities. The scholarship supports First Nations people who are studying a medical degree at an Australian university. The value of the scholarship is $10,000 per annum, paid as a lump sum and awarded for the full course of study, subject to annual review. Applicants must be of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander origin, enrolled full-time at an Australian medical school, and have successfully completed at least their first year of medicine.
