About This Opportunity

Amelie Ersmarkers minnesfond was established in autumn 2005 in memory of Amelie, who passed away in August 2002. Amelie had kidney disease since birth and received two transplants during her life. She lived to be 18 years old and loved to travel, often seeking funding from various funds to finance and fulfill her dreams. Instead of flowers at her funeral, the family requested donations to start a fund in her memory. The fund provides financial support to children and young people up to 18 years old who want recreation with their family, or for young people who want to travel alone. Applicants can request up to 5,000 SEK for travel and recreation purposes. The fund also supports those who cannot travel but want to have a special day that brightens their lives, such as shopping, visiting an amusement park, or dining at a nice restaurant - for which they can apply for up to 1,000 SEK. Applicants must have been members of Njurförbundet (The Swedish Kidney Association) for at least one year to be eligible to apply. The fund specifically serves children and youth with kidney disease, helping them experience joy and recreation despite their health challenges.
