About this opportunity
The American Association of University Women (AAUW) Scholarship is funded by the Longmont AAUW Branch and administered through the Longmont Community Foundation. The AAUW strives to break through educational and economic barriers so that all women have an equal chance. Through advocacy, education, and research, AAUW advances gender equity for women and girls. The purpose of this scholarship program is to provide scholarships to encourage women to pursue higher education in order to increase their ability to have a positive impact in their field and community, including women returning to school to update their knowledge/skills. The scholarship supports women pursuing careers in education, health, and in fields in which women are currently underrepresented. Typically one scholarship is awarded annually, with amounts varying from year to year up to $4,500, though the maximum amount listed is $1,000. Scholarship awards must be used within 12 months of the award date and are restricted to tuition and fees.
