About this opportunity
This scholarship was established in honour of Amuthan Annamalai, a Year 6 medical student at JCU who passed away in 2013. He was passionate about enabling Indigenous Australians to access tertiary education and his father, who established this scholarship, hopes this scholarship will go a small way towards boosting participation of Indigenous students in non-traditional study areas of science, engineering, IT and pharmacy. The scholarship is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students commencing undergraduate studies at James Cook University in Queensland. The award provides approximately $25,000 total support for full-time study at the Cairns, Nguma-bada or Bebegu Yumba Townsville campus. Eligible programs include Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Advanced Science, Bachelor of Pharmacy, or any dual degree combination which includes one of these degrees.
