Anam Cara Scholarship

The Anam Cara Scholarship supports education majors planning to teach at Eastern Illinois University. The scholarship is designed to assist students enrolled in programs leading to Teacher Certification, with a particular focus on supporting first-generation college students, individuals demonstrating commitment to domestic violence prevention, and single parents who are working and head of household. Recipients must complete a goal statement outlining their financial need, educational goals, and how their pursuit of teacher certification will benefit themselves and society. The award is announced in the spring and disbursed in the fall semester. Preference is given to female applicants when all other criteria are equal. The scholarship reflects the donor's commitment to supporting diverse students entering the teaching profession and addressing social issues through education.
