About this opportunity

At Ancestry, we are committed to enhancing education and empowering the next generation of history makers. The 2025 HistoryMakers Scholarship Fund is designed to support current undergraduate and graduate students who will be enrolled full-time from the Fall 2025 semester through the Spring 2026 semester at universities participating in the HistoryMakers Tour. By empowering the leaders of tomorrow, Ancestry aims to help enable young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. This scholarship is available to high school seniors entering undergraduate study, current undergraduate students, and graduate students. Applicants must be enrolled full-time at one of eight participating universities in the United States or United Kingdom, including Bowie State University, California State University Sacramento, Florida International University, Tennessee State University, Queen Mary University, University of Westminster, City University of London, and University of Greenwich. A minimum GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale is required. Preference is given to students pursuing degrees in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Statistics, Life Sciences, Marketing, Finance, Business Economics, Business Management, Cybersecurity, or User Experience. Recipients are selected based on academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, unusual personal or family circumstances, and a 1,000-character essay on what being a 'history maker' means to them. Financial need is not considered. Recipients may be offered internships or career opportunities with Ancestry upon graduation.
