About this opportunity
This one-time award has been made available by the Ebert family, following the untimely passing of Andrea in 2017, aged 49. Andrea proudly graduated from Ara's New Zealand Broadcasting School in the early 1990s and was grateful for the career path this set her up for. Andrea enjoyed a very successful 25 years in the media and advertising industry, with one of her many achievements being helping Tahu FM get off the ground. Andrea lived her life with compassion and empathy.
The award provides $15,000 NZD shared equally between five students, with each recipient receiving $3,000. The award is designed to support broadcasting students at Ara's New Zealand Broadcasting School who have completed at least one year of study and may be facing challenges in their learning journey. These challenges could include financial difficulties, disability, learning difficulties, or other obstacles.
Eligible students must be currently enrolled as either domestic or international students at the New Zealand Broadcasting School. Applicants are required to submit a personal statement of no more than 500 words outlining special circumstances that make them a candidate for this award, along with a character referee report that comments on their ability to succeed in the Bachelor of Broadcast Communications and attests to their character.
