About This Opportunity

Anglian Water's Thriving Communities Fund is an environmental and social fund that offers grants of between £10,000 and £100,000 to support projects across the entire Anglian Water region that are focused on the natural water environment whilst also delivering social benefits. The fund exists to empower groups in the region to improve their local water environment and create positive social impact. Over the next five years, £5.8m of shareholder funds will be invested into projects that improve the water environment and bring real social benefits to communities. Projects must primarily nurture, repair, protect or sustain the natural water environment, covering all natural and managed water systems and the ecosystems connected to them, including the sea. This includes improvements in water quality, biodiversity enhancement, reduction of harmful practices, river morphology improvements, floodplain connectivity, and sustainable drainage systems. In addition to environmental focus, projects must deliver social benefits such as environmental and community wellbeing, health and wellbeing outcomes, and education and skills development opportunities. This programme is managed by Cambridgeshire Community Foundation on behalf of Anglian Water.
