About this opportunity
Granted annually to both a second-year and a third-year nursing student at the University of Prince Edward Island. The scholarships recognize students who demonstrate financial need, compassion, and interests outside of nursing. This award honors Ann Muriel Andrews, who was born in Kenora, Ontario, and graduated from the St. Boniface Hospital School of Nursing in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1960. Ann specialized as an Operating Room Nurse and worked in Montreal before moving to PEI to raise a family and continue her career at the Prince Edward Island Hospital. After a break to raise her family, Ann recertified as an RN and continued her nursing career for over 30 years in various roles including instructional work at UPEI and Holland College. She volunteered on mission trips to Kenya and Haiti and played organ for nursing home residents. This scholarship was created to honor Ann by Kevin & Susan Andrews and family.
