About This Opportunity

The Annie Beatrice Robinson Wilson MySydney Scholarship is an undergraduate scholarship that provides $8,500 per annum to support civil engineering undergraduate students from low socio-economic areas. The purpose of this scholarship is to address the educational disadvantage experienced by people living in areas affected by socio-economic disadvantage, by facilitating and supporting their participation in University of Sydney civil engineering courses. The scholarship is tenable for the published full-time duration of the recipient's civil engineering undergraduate (single or combined) degree up to a maximum total duration of 5 years full-time or part-time equivalent. Recipients must be domestic students who have applied for admission through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) and resided in an area listed in the bottom 25 percent of the Australian Bureau of Statistics Socio-Economic Index for Areas (SEIFA) Index of Education and Occupation (IEO) when they applied. In addition to the annual stipend, recipients receive comprehensive support including access to the Preparation for Sydney Uni program to support the transition from school to university, annual University of Sydney Union Rewards Membership, access to the Vice Chancellor's Global Mobility Award valued up to AUD 5,000 for eligible exchange programs, eligibility to apply for additional accommodation scholarships, and access to an alumni and industry mentoring program in the final year of study. The scholarship is awarded to students with the highest Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) who meet the eligibility criteria and receive an unconditional admission offer to the University of Sydney through UAC. No separate scholarship application is required, as eligible students are automatically considered based on their UAC application and admission.
