About This Opportunity

The Annie Manowski and Sylvia Kmet Social Work Award is offered annually to a continuing undergraduate student enrolled in the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Calgary. The award provides up to $6,000 to support students with financial need who demonstrate academic merit. Preference is given to single parents who are allies of the domestic violence community and have contributed to or are interested in the betterment of those affected by domestic violence. Recipients must be registered full-time but need not be carrying a full course load. The award is structured as a bursary, combining financial need considerations with academic merit and community commitment. This internal university award is supported by donors Annie Manowski and Sylvia Kmet.
