About this opportunity
The ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship is a sub-category of the CAS-ANSO Scholarship program that supports doctoral education for students from developing countries. According to an agreement between the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS/UNESCO), up to 40 students from developing countries will be sponsored annually to pursue PhD degrees in China for up to 4 years. The scholarship was officially launched in 2022, with 10 scholarships prioritized for recipients engaged in climate-related research. Special consideration is extended to candidates from Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and women researchers. Awardees will study at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) or the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), with access to CAS institutes across China. The program covers tuition, monthly stipend, health insurance, application fee waiver, and international travel allowance.
