About this opportunity
The Anthony Strachan Scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to students studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music at the University of Sydney. This scholarship was established in 2020 from a donation by Anthony Strachan to support both coursework and research students pursuing music studies. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit, personal statement, demonstrated evidence of disadvantage, portfolio and/or performance. For postgraduate research applicants, research achievements and potential may also be considered. The scholarship value and duration are determined by the Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and stipulated in the scholarship offer letter. For coursework students, payments are made in two equal instalments each semester after census dates, while research students receive fortnightly stipend payments. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic performance, with coursework students required to maintain a minimum weighted average mark (WAM) of 65 each semester.
