About this opportunity
Each year the ANU College of Law, Governance and Policy may offer a number of awards known as the ANU Law Indigenous Justice and Education Grant. The objective of the Award is to provide financial assistance to law students to undertake Indigenous justice course or project within the College. Funding for this Award has been provided by the College and its generous donors.
The Award is available to continuing ANU students enrolled in specific law programs including Bachelor of Laws (Honours), Juris Doctor, Master of Laws, Master of International Law and Diplomacy, Master of Financial Management and Law, Graduate Certificate of Law, or Graduate Certificate of New Technologies Law. Recipients must have applied for, been offered a place in, and intend to undertake a self-arranged internship at the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA) in 2025.
The award value is up to $2,200 paid in one instalment and would normally be used to assist with airfares, accommodation and day-to-day living expenses to undertake the course or project. Selection is based on academic merit, demonstrated commitment to understanding and pursuing Indigenous justice, commitment to developing Indigenous Cultural Competency (for non-Indigenous students), relevant past experience and skills, and relational skills such as empathy and compassion.
