About this opportunity
The Apart, not Alone programme will award grants of between £5,000 and £50,000 for projects that mitigate the impact of service-related separation for families of serving personnel and reservists. This programme aims to improve the quality of life for those impacted by service-related separation, including deployment, weekending, or military exercises. Projects should address outcomes such as helping families manage loneliness or isolation during separation periods, reducing challenges during reintegration, improving mental health and wellbeing, and developing effective models of support for serving families. Applications are invited from registered charities, Community Interest Companies (CICs) with substantial recent experience supporting Armed Forces communities, and Armed Forces units or bases. Grants of up to £25,000 are available for projects lasting up to 12 months, while charities and CICs registered in the UK for at least three years can apply for up to £50,000 for projects lasting up to two years. The programme recognizes the significant impact that service-related separation can have on various aspects of family life, including emotional wellbeing, mental health, social connections, and overall family dynamics.
