About This Opportunity

The Arahanga Scholarship was established to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Māori Studies at Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington. It acknowledges Te Kawa Māui's continued commitment to providing opportunities for Māori students to learn about Māori culture and society, explore Māori customs, history and traditions and practice how to participate in the Māori world. The Scholarship is specifically for Māori students who successfully complete the Tohu Māoritanga/Diploma of Māoritanga qualification and are returning to move into undergraduate study at Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington. This Scholarship is sponsored by the Office of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Māori) and is awarded automatically to eligible students without requiring a separate application.
