About this opportunity
The Architecture, Design and Planning Dean's Outstanding Merit Scholarship is a yearly $1,000 scholarship established in 2002 by the Dean to encourage the most talented individuals to undertake undergraduate courses in the Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning at the University of Sydney. This scholarship is awarded automatically to recent school leavers who are Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens, or Australian permanent residents enrolling in eligible architecture, design, and planning programs.
The scholarship is tenable for the normal full-time duration of the degree program and may be extended for an additional year for recipients undertaking an honours year (excluding Bachelor of Design in Architecture (Honours) and Master of Architecture students as their honours year is inbuilt). The annual value is paid in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester.
Recipients must have achieved a minimum ATAR of 98 or equivalent and must not have completed any prior tertiary studies. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit as demonstrated through the HSC or equivalent. To maintain ongoing eligibility, recipients must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 75 each semester.
No application is required as eligible candidates are considered automatically as part of the admissions process. This scholarship recognizes outstanding academic achievement and provides financial support to encourage talented students to pursue their studies in architecture, design, and planning disciplines.
