Arlene Birdsell Martin Teaching Scholarship

The Arlene Birdsell Martin Teaching Scholarship was established at the Community Foundation of North Central Washington in 1999. Mrs. Martin taught high school in Pullman before moving to Wenatchee where she was the head of the English Department at Wenatchee Valley College. This scholarship supports graduating seniors from Wenatchee Valley College with special emphasis on students pursuing a teaching certificate, enrolled in a 4-year college with preference given to English majors. The scholarship recognizes students transitioning from community college to university-level teacher education programs. Renewal is possible for recipients who must reapply and compete with new applicants each year.
