About this opportunity
The Arthur B. and Emma A. Martell Scholarship Fund assists students from the community of Petit-de-Grat, Nova Scotia, who are either attending a post-secondary institution or are beginning their studies in the upcoming school year. The scholarship is awarded to up to two students, one from each of two eligible high schools: Ecole Beau-Port and Richmond Education Centre/Academy.
This is a nomination-based scholarship rather than an application-based opportunity. School principals or scholarship committees nominate one graduating student from each eligible high school. Selection criteria include academic achievement, community involvement, financial need, and residency in Petit-de-Grat.
The scholarship is paid directly to the student's account at their post-secondary institution. Nominations must be submitted by June 15th each year. The fund is administered by the Community Foundation of Nova Scotia.
