About this opportunity
The Arthur Macquarie Travelling Scholarship provides financial assistance to PhD or Doctor of Arts students to allow travel to Italy or other places known for their artistic achievement. This scholarship was established to promote Australian culture in poetry or sculpture (including Art History and Theory). Recipients must be enrolled at the University of Sydney in either English and Writing, Art History, or the Sydney College of the Arts, with a focus on Australian poetry or sculpture. The scholarship requires that applicants demonstrate travel to Italy or other places known for their artistic achievement is required as part of their research. Funded by a bequest from Arthur Macquarie of East Molesey, Surrey, England made in 1953.
