About This Opportunity
These scholarships were first established in 1985 by the family, former students and colleagues in the University in memory of Arthur Holden Naylor, Professor of Civil Engineering 1938-63. Scholarships to a value of £1,000 per year may be awarded biennially (alternating with the Victor Milligan Scholarship) to students planning to start any undergraduate engineering degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering. Selection for the scholarships will be based on students' academic performance at school and, optionally, on an interview. The Scholarship will be renewed annually based on the holders' performance on the degree course. Scholarship holders must have an overall weighted average of at least 65% at the end of each stage to maintain eligibility.

Review process
Awards will be made on recommendation from a panel comprising the Head of Civil Engineering, the staff member responsible for prizes and scholarships and at least one other staff member. Selection based on academic performance at school (A levels or equivalent) and, optionally, on an interview.
