About this opportunity
The Arts & Culture Fund provides grants of up to £2,000 to ensure equality of access to the benefits that arts and culture can provide to improve the lives of those most in need in Suffolk. The fund recognizes that arts and culture organizations throughout Suffolk are well placed in understanding community needs and delivering programmes to help those most disadvantaged in society. The arts can be used to break down barriers, bring communities together, encourage diversity and ensure accessibility.
The fund seeks to address key areas of need identified in Suffolk Community Foundation's Hidden Needs report, including material want or income poverty, loneliness or social isolation, and lack of access or limited access to services and opportunities. Projects must fit into at least one of three themes: activities that aid the improvement of physical and emotional health/wellbeing, tackling disadvantage by supporting participation and inclusive access to arts based projects, or developing communities that work together to support each other.
Funding is open to groups with charitable objectives including community groups, registered charities, social enterprises, community interest groups, and micro-organisations delivering local services supported by local councils or other constituted organisations with charitable aims. Both core costs and project costs are eligible for support.
