About this opportunity
The Association for the Study and Preservation of Roman Mosaics offers grants up to a maximum value of £500 to support projects relating to ancient mosaics. There are two types of grants available: grants to individuals to support the costs of travel and/or publication relating to the study of ancient mosaics and/or work on the conservation or preservation of mosaics, and grants to UK museums or sites to support the costs of projects relating to the presentation, conservation or study of ancient mosaics. Individual applicants should be ASPROM members doing research for a degree and/or for the publication of a book or article on ancient mosaics, or participating in a conservation project. Museum or site applicants can be the owner, director, supporting organization, or an individual acting on behalf of a museum or site. Awards are made twice per year with deadlines on 31 January for consideration in March and 31 August for the October meeting. Successful applicants must submit a short illustrated report on their research or the use of the grant for publication in the ASPROM journal Mosaic or newsletter, or deliver a talk at an ASPROM symposium. Applications for retrospective funding are not eligible, and grants are expected to be spent within a year of their award.
