About this opportunity
The Astrid G. Cates Vocational School Scholarship was established through a generous bequest by Astrid G. Cates to the Sons of Norway Foundation, with additional funding from Sons of Norway lodges, members, and friends. This scholarship supports technical and vocational education for young people connected to Sons of Norway. The mission of the Sons of Norway Foundation is to celebrate Nordic culture and heritage through scholarships and grants to members and communities. One scholarship of up to $1,500 is awarded annually to support students aged 17-26 pursuing technical or vocational training in any field of study in the United States. Applicants must be current members of Sons of Norway or children or grandchildren of current members with at least one year of membership prior to application. The scholarship is intended for post-secondary vocational education and requires proof of enrollment.
