Astrid G. Cates Vocational School Scholarship

The Astrid G. Cates Vocational School Scholarship is funded through a generous bequest from Astrid G. Cates to the Sons of Norway Foundation, along with donations from Sons of Norway lodges, members and friends. This scholarship supports youth members pursuing technical or vocational education in the United States. The scholarship is open to U.S. citizens between ages 17-26 who are current members of Sons of Norway, or children or grandchildren of a current member with membership in effect at least one calendar year prior to application. Applicants must be enrolled in a technical or vocational program in the United States. No prior college credit is required. Applicants must submit a short autobiography, an essay addressing career goals and Sons of Norway involvement, demonstrate financial need, and provide a letter of recommendation. Recipients are expected to give a presentation at their Sons of Norway lodge about how the scholarship is helping them achieve their educational dreams.
