About this opportunity
This award is given to history majors with high academic achievement at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The award recognizes undergraduate students who have demonstrated excellence in their history studies. Qualified candidates must be students with sophomore, junior or senior standing and a declared major in History with at least twelve credits in history completed. They must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 and be enrolled full-time. Second degree students are not eligible for this award.
Students who have an up-to-date Panther Scholarship Portal General Application and the College of Letters & Science Scholarships and Awards Application will be automatically considered, typically in spring each year. No additional or separate application is required beyond thoroughly completing these two applications. Awards given in spring are for the following school year, so students graduating that same spring or summer are not eligible.
The award was established by the late Kay Brown and Family and Friends of A.T. Brown to support outstanding history undergraduate students at UW-Milwaukee. The award amount varies up to $1,000 and is administered through the UWM Foundation Scholarships program in partnership with the History Department and College of Letters & Science.
