About this opportunity
The Audrey J. Tinney Nursing Scholarship is awarded to students entering full-time studies (5 courses/15 semester-hours per semester) in the Nursing program at the University of Prince Edward Island. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who has been a resident of Prince Edward Island for a minimum of five years; mature students are eligible to apply for this scholarship. This scholarship is established at UPEI in memory of Audrey J. Tinney by The Tinney Family (her sons, Bill Tinney, UPEI Class of 1982 and Roger Tinney, Holland College Class of 1983, as well as husband Donald Tinney, PWC Class of 1948) to support students entering first year in the UPEI School of Nursing. Audrey Tinney (PWC Class of 1949 and PEI Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1952) was a strong, dedicated nurse, respected by those who worked with her and were treated by her in her 40 plus years as a registered nurse. Her passion for nursing equalled her enthusiasm for life on Prince Edward Island with all it had to offer. She was well loved and is fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched. Two awards are available for the 2019/2020 academic year.
