Australian Institute Research Grant

The Australian Institute Research Grant supports projects that secure both short-term and long-term benefits to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. The program funds a wide range of research, including history, politics, law, public policy, health, biological sciences, education, Indigenous knowledge systems, linguistics, social anthropology, archaeology, and the arts. Grants provide up to $18,000 for travel, living, research, housing, and stipends, with funding approved for no longer than one year. This grant is designed to support research initiatives that directly benefit Indigenous Australian communities across diverse academic and cultural fields.
