About this opportunity
The Averil Brent Scholarship in Science was established by Peter Preston-Thomas in 2002 as a tribute to his daughter Averil. The scholarship supports female students pursuing studies in the field of science at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. The scholarship is open to female students studying full time at 300 level, BSc (Hons) and Masters by Coursework in any area of Science, including Architecture and Design Innovation. The scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of academic merit, and in the case of two or more equally worthy applicants, financial need will also be taken into consideration. Recipients are expected to act as Ambassadors for the university and participate in appropriate events or marketing if requested.
