Axel och Margareta Ax:son Johnsons stiftelse för allmännyttiga ändamål

The Axel and Margareta Ax:son Johnson Foundation for Public Benefit was established in 1947 based on funds donated by General Consul Axel Ax:son Johnson and his wife Margaret. The foundation's purpose is to generally promote scientific research within Sweden. The foundation distributes grants across multiple fields with approximately 30% allocated to each of medicine, technology, and social sciences/humanities, and 10% to the social sector. As a reference, in 1995 the foundation distributed grants totaling 34 million Swedish kronor.
