About this opportunity

The Aziz Foundation is awarding full tuition fee Masters scholarships to five exceptional British Muslims, lacking the financial means to complete postgraduate degrees, at the University of Sussex for the 2026/27 academic year. These scholarships aim to empower British Muslims to bring positive change to their communities and beyond. The scholarship provides a full tuition fee waiver for eligible Masters students studying in areas including Media and Journalism, Sports, Arts and Culture, Sustainability and Environment, Technology, Policy or Law. Applicants must be active within a Muslim community and demonstrate intimate knowledge of issues affecting British Muslim communities, be Zakat-eligible or in financial need, and show excellent understanding of their chosen industry. The scholarship seeks candidates who will generate social impact through effective advocacy to combat Islamophobia, enhance public perception of British Muslims, or through community service and social development to raise aspirations and standards within British Muslim communities. The successful applicants will be selected through an interview process run by the Aziz Foundation. The University of Sussex is one of the Aziz Foundation's preferred partners, sharing core values and actively promoting widening participation at postgraduate level while addressing unconscious bias and the BaME attainment gap.
