About This Opportunity

One or more scholarships are awarded to academically outstanding Canadian-born Indigenous graduate students in the School of Indigenous Governance, School of Social Work, School of Public Administration, Department of Political Science, Department of Economics or the Department of Psychology. Applicants must submit a statement (maximum 500 words) describing how, through their studies and community involvement, they plan to address a significant social challenge facing Indigenous peoples. Preference is for students with demonstrated financial need. The award amount varies and is administered by the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the University of Victoria. Recipients are selected by the Faculty of Graduate Studies Graduate Awards Committee upon recommendation from the Office of Indigenous Academic and Community Engagement. The minimum requirement for consideration is normally an A- average, and students must be full-time graduate students.
