About this opportunity

The Baidam Indigenous Scholarship is part of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Scholarship Scheme at The University of Queensland. This scholarship supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who demonstrate financial need while pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programs. Established in 2020 by a donation from Baidam Solutions Pty Ltd under the Create Change Scholarship Match Initiative, the scholarship is maintained by income generated from the underlying endowment fund. The scholarship provides financial assistance of at least $4,500 per year for up to 4 years to eligible students enrolled in any coursework program at UQ. Preference is given to students studying information technology or programs with significant STEM components (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics majors or designated STEM programs). Selection is based on demonstrated financial hardship, personal qualities including leadership potential, academic ability, and other matters relevant to future academic success. Applicants need to demonstrate their Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander status and provide documentation of their financial circumstances. One application form covers consideration for all scholarships under the UQ Indigenous Commonwealth Scholarships and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Scholarship Scheme.
