Bailey Bequest Bursary

The Bailey Bequest Bursary is a financial support program established at Massey University from funds provided by the Bailey Bequest of the late Walter Henry Bailey, a retired farmer from Wellington. This bursary provides up to $3,000 for postgraduate students facing financial hardship, sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances. The award is designed to support students enrolled in any postgraduate programme, though doctoral students are not eligible but may qualify for alternative hardship funding. Recipients are selected based on demonstrated financial need and must be supported by a supervisor, head of department, or other academic mentor who is familiar with their circumstances. The bursary is available to both full-time and part-time students and is open to distance learners.
