The Baily Thomas Charitable Fund operates a General Grant Programme for appeals of £9,000 and above, supporting organizations working with people with learning disabilities. Application for funding is normally considered for capital and revenue costs and for both specific projects and for general running/core costs. Grants are awarded starting from £250 and depend on factors including the purpose, the total funding requirement, and potential sources of other funds including match funding. The Fund also operates a Small Grant Programme for appeals below £9,000, with grants up to a maximum of £5,000, which are considered on a monthly basis by the Chair of Trustees. All applications are made through an online application form. A further application from an organisation will not normally be considered for a period of at least two years after consideration of a previously successful grant (one year if the previous application was unsuccessful).
