Bar Scholarship 2026/27

Northumbria Law School offers five Bar Course Scholarships to attract the highest calibre of students to its Bar Course programmes. The aim is to encourage access and enable capable and motivated students to enter the legal profession. For September 2026, three scholarship holders will receive a full waiver of the Bar Course fees, while an additional two scholars will receive a £5,000 discount off the tuition fee. The Bar Course Scholarships are awarded on merit alone and are assessed against clear criteria including intellectual ability, advocacy, legal ethics, and character and interpersonal skills. The application process consists of two stages: a written application requiring a personal statement, CV, and transcript upload, followed by interviews for shortlisted candidates that include a short oral presentation.
