BarentsKult provides grants for professional art and cultural collaboration between Norwegian and Russian actors in the Barents region. Due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, there are many factors that make cultural cooperation in the Barents region with Russian partners challenging. After November 15, 2023, the opportunity to apply under the old regulations was closed. The Barents Secretariat's new main goal is to contribute to social development in Northern Norway by facilitating and supporting collaborative projects that Northern Norwegian actors wish to carry out with cooperation partners, mainly in northern Sweden and Finland. New application schemes are being developed and updates are available on Barents.no.
