About This Opportunity

The BBC Children in Need Emergency Essentials Programme supports children and young people in crisis throughout the UK. The programme provides items that meet a child's most basic needs, including beds to sleep in, cookers to provide hot meals, and other items and services critical to a child's wellbeing. Applications must be made by a registered referrer who is part of an organization supporting the family or young person. The programme supports children and young people up to and including the age of 17 who are experiencing a crisis or emergency and live in the UK. Only one application per household is accepted within a 12 month period. The programme provides critical items such as cookers, furniture, kitchen equipment and small appliances, children's beds and bedding, washing machines and tumble dryers, fridges and freezers, baby equipment, and clothing for emergency or crisis situations. The programme is delivered by Family Fund Business Services together with their parent charity, and operates with limited funding on a tiered strategy to ensure programme longevity and reach underrepresented areas.
