BBSRC standard research grant: 2026 round one: applicant-led mode

Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) Original Source

About This Opportunity

The BBSRC Standard Research Grant provides funding to support excellent investigator-led research across the breadth of Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) scientific remit. This scheme is open to researchers based at UK research organisations eligible for BBSRC funding. The funding supports research projects in areas including plants, microbes, animals and humans, and tools and technology underpinning biological research, with investigations spanning from molecules and cells to tissues, whole organisms, populations and landscapes. The scheme encourages multidisciplinary proposals that cross into other research council areas, provided the primary focus falls within BBSRC's remit. Awards can support various activities including research projects, data intensive and technology development projects, equipment, community resources, new facilities, infrastructure, research networks and coordination, and summer schools. Applications are encouraged to consider relevance to BBSRC's long-term research and innovation priorities as outlined in their strategic delivery plan 2022 to 2025.
