About this opportunity
The Belinda Frances Hughes Violin Scholarship is a merit and equity-based scholarship for students studying violin at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music at the University of Sydney. Established in 2023 and funded by the estate of John Lowe Whitting Hughes, this scholarship assists both undergraduate and postgraduate students undertaking full-time coursework or research degrees. The scholarship value and duration are determined by the Head of School and Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music on a case-by-case basis. Selection is based on academic merit, personal statement, demonstrated evidence of disadvantage, and portfolio or performance. For postgraduate research applicants, research achievements and potential are also considered. Recipients may be required to attend an interview as part of the selection process.
