Benjamin (Ben) Albert Award

The Benjamin (Ben) Albert Award is offered through EducationMatters and supports Grade 12 students in the Calgary Board of Education system who are completing their high school diploma requirements and intend to pursue post-secondary education. Six awards are available, with at least two designated specifically for students attending apprenticeship, trade, or technical school. Applicants must demonstrate their involvement in sports by submitting an essay of approximately 500 words describing the impact and importance that sports participation has had on their life. Selection is based on the essay submission and demonstrated financial need. The award must be claimed within 18 months from the date of high school graduation, and recipients must provide proof of registration in an eligible program of study leading to a degree or diploma, including vocational, apprenticeship, technical, or post-secondary institutions.
