Bernadette East Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship provides $3,500 to a Bachelor of Nursing student in their third year of studies at Ara Institute of Canterbury. The award is in memory of Bernadette East, who was a senior nurse at Bidwill Trust Hospital in Timaru for 39 years. Bernadette was known for mentoring and encouraging people in the nursing profession and gave many people their professional break. The scholarship is provided by the Bidwill Trust Hospital and is intended to support nursing students who are either resident in South Canterbury or have completed high school in the province.
