About this opportunity

The Bernard Lee Scholarship for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students provides financial support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students studying at the University of Sydney. The scholarship is valued at $8,500 per annum and is tenable for the published full-time duration of the recipient's undergraduate degree up to a maximum total duration of 5 years full-time study or part-time equivalent. The scholarship was established in 2024 and is funded by a bequest from Bernard Lee. It aims to provide financial support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander undergraduate students at the University of Sydney. Preference is given to applicants who can demonstrate financial hardship. Recipients must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 50 each semester to continue receiving the scholarship. The scholarship is awarded based on a personal statement detailing how the scholarship will support the applicant to undertake their degree and details of financial hardship if applicable. The scholarship payment is made in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester.
