About This Opportunity

The Bernt Anker Scholarship is a four-year renewable scholarship created through the generosity of Sons of Norway member Bernt Anker, who believes college students without parents should have the same opportunities as students from two-parent households. The scholarship awards up to $3,000 per year for up to four consecutive years, totaling up to $12,000 for each recipient. This scholarship supports undergraduate and technical/vocational students in any field of study who are U.S. citizens studying in the United States. Preference is given to students without parents or to students raised by single parents. The Sons of Norway Foundation's mission is to celebrate Nordic culture and heritage through scholarships and grants to members and communities. Three students typically receive this scholarship each year, with one new recipient selected annually.
